The location was convenient to the area of San Diego I like to visit the most. Close to Balboa Park and Gas Lamp as well as Hillcrest.
This place was a complete dump. Apparently it was being "remodeled", but they had no regard to the comfort of their guests. They were literally hazards everywhere where people could have hurt themselves...loose debris, painting supplies all over the place, doors without door knobs, random parts laying around in the lobby and the list goes on. Our room was one of the "finished" rooms, but the beds were very uncomfortable, the AC knobs were broken and the room was very humid. The bathroom door had no door knob and the sheets appeared to have mold on them. The towels looked grey instead of white and were clearly very old. The guest checking in before us was given a room with someone already booked in it and he walked in on them...came back to the lobby to complain and the front desk agent was apologetic but clearly clueless. I would never stay here again, unless I was completely desperate.
Friendly staff and close to a trolley stop
Some facilities didn't work and were never fixed, bathroom was dirty and small, was going through renavations.
The rooms were clean but there was nothing in them but the beds. No artwork on the walls, not even an ice machine!
There is limited parking, so it is first come first serve. No ice machine. No decorations. And there were homeless people in back of it. It was pretty sketchy.
The room description said two queen beds and a sofa bed, non smoking. Well the room smelt really bad and the a/c and window being open didnt help at all. And as for the sofa bed! Ha!!! It was a chair that had a foot stool. Restroom walls had mold and rust. Good thing we changed our trip from a two night stay to a one night stay. I couldnt stay there for another night. But you get what you pay for!!
Hotel being renovated... this is a must as it was looking very ran down. We did sleep well, however - no noise.
Added pet charge on before the last day and locked us out of the room!
I didn't like the fact that I had to shower in different rooms because there was no hot water in my room, and because there was no phone in the room, I had to leave in my bathrobe to go to the front desk to inquire about where I could shower for 2 days.. Also, there isn't enough parking, so the first night I had to park in an adjacent parking lot for $8. Also, there is no light in the room just in the bathroom area. If you get up in the night you have to feel your way to the bathroom to turn on the light. It was the worst hotel experience I have ever had and will not book there again.
There was not much to like except for the location - 5 minute walk from gaslamp quarters.
It was not very clean. We did not get the room that was advertised because the hotel staff did not understand that I was inquiring about cancellation fees, rather then trying to cancel so they gave our room away and were shocked when I came to check in. Luckily they had two lesser rooms available. They tried to charge full price but I argued the lesser room should be charged less so they took $10 off.
They had newly remodeled bathrooms.
We had to wait, ringing the bell at the front door for 15 minutes before someone noticed us. We didn't even have a clock, lamp, or trashcan in our room. And there weren't any curtains, they hung up sheets to cover the window! I mean I know $90 won'[y get you a great hotel, but sheets for curtains?
Um...nothing but the location.
Crackheads stayed there, front desk guy was creepy, me and my girlfriends asked for an upstairs room and were given a room downstairs in the rape hallway, bums left their belongings across from our room, basically no parking, carpet was filthy (our feet turned black if we didn't wear shoes), there was a cigarette left on top of the armoire, table spun, no clock in the room. Need I say more?
Coise to places .
Good location was neer downtown close to lots of placesShower leaked air didint work dusty verry lil parking towel were like sandiego papper lots of thing were broken.
They were in the middle of renovations. My room didn't have running water until after the plumbers were done for the day. I didn't have a telephone, table, dresser, blanket, lamp. Guess I got what I paid for: a bed and a shower.
The hotel walking distance from the Gaslamp Quarter.
Terrible service, terrible accomodations, homeless people live behind the hotel, and it's under construction and messy everywhere!
Although it is not really centric, it is walking distance from the bar-restaurants area and close to the park too.
The street was a bit noisy, the room a bit decadent, the light of the bathroom was switching on and off by itself.
Considering the 8, or so used toilets (yes toilstored in the frnot
Would not recommend to anyone. And, I mean anyone!
